Kirk Hamsher is a seasoned personal and business coach.  He has over twenty years of experience in developing individuals and groups.  This includes his work at Abbott Laboratories from 1985 - 2006, where he was focused in human development and internal consulting.  Prior to joining Abbott, he was a secondary school teacher for several years in the Chicago-land area.  

He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1981 with a B.A. in History, and completed graduate studies at Northern Illinois University in 1983, earning an M.A. in History and a secondary teaching certificate.

Kirk is particularly effective in helping individuals improve performance, change habits, and achieve goals.  What differentiates Kirk is his ability to interact with clients in a way that resonates and motivates them to take action, resulting in an improved personal or professional life.  He has a consistent history of success in working with individuals to “try on” new behaviors - and to practice them in a disciplined way - until they become second nature.  The skills and methods that Kirk instills within people are truly transformational, and can be used throughout their personal and professional lives.

Kirk uses concepts, models and approaches that are simple to use, yet extremely powerful.  He works closely with the individual to co-create a stimulating plan of action, and stays actively engaged throughout the process, providing insight and guidance, customized for the individual and his/her unique needs.  Kirk provides as much contact time as required and is extremely accessible.  His overall philosophy is to do whatever is humanly possible to serve and support individuals as they develop performance skills or pursue goals. 

In addition to C.E.L. & Associates, Kirk is also a lead instructor/facilitator for Corporate Event Enterprises, Inc. and is an adjunct instructor for the College of Lake County.  He is a member of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), as well as its Chicago Chapter (CCASTD).
